Ahead of next week`s Dubai Air Show, two Gripen fighters have arrived to take part in this most important regional event.
Ahead of next week`s Dubai Air Show, two Gripen fighters have arrived in Dubai to take part in this most important regional event. Two Gripen fighters, a `C` single seat version and `D` dual seat version of the very latest standard being delivered to export customers, will be taking part in the air display and static display, as well as conducting VIP flights during next weeks` show.
Flown by Saab test pilots Mats Thorbiörnsson, Fredrik Müchler and Magnus Olsson, the aircraft flew the long journey to the Middle East in just eight and a half (8 1/2) hours.
En route, the aircraft visited the Caslav Air Base in the Czech Republic, where the Czech Air Force operate their NATO standard Gripen fighters, before flying on to Tanagra Air Base in Greece, Hurghada in Egypt, Bahrain International airport and then onto Dubai.
During next week`s show, where Gripen is making its Middle East debut, Fredrik Müchler will be demonstrating the incredible capabilities of the only new generation aircraft in operational service worldwide - an event surely not to be missed.
