Oman will buy about 100 Javelin anti-tank missiles made by a joint venture of Raytheon Co. and Lockheed Martin Corp., the two companies announced.
The government of the Sultinate of Oman signed a letter of agreement with the U.S. government in October, a pact calling for Oman to gain roughly 100 missiles and a corresponding number of command launch units.
The companies as well will supply Oman with training and support packages.
This deal is the tenth international sale of the advanced anti-tank weapons, according to the firms.
Raytheon provides system engineering management and support for the Javelin Joint Venture and produces the command launch unit, missile guidance electronic unit and system software.
This work is performed primarily at Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson, Ariz., and at other Raytheon facilities in Texas, Massachusetts and California.
Lockheed Martin provides missile engineering and production support for the Javelin Joint Venture in Orlando, Fla., produces the missile seeker in Ocala, Fla., and performs missile all-up-round assembly in Troy, Ala.
